Helle Ingvardtsen graduated as a textile designer from Handarbeidets Fremme in Copenhagen in 2003.
Starting with hand-printed fabrics, she founded Stories on Fabric in 2006.
During her education she had an internship at The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, as textile designer at their textile workshop. Here she helped to print and colour textiles for productions such as "The Wind in the Arrows" and "Rigoletto", thus gaining a thorough insight into textile design in theatre production.
Since then, Helle worked as a freelance designer for the magazine "Creative Women" with publishing in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. She wrote articles to the magazine about DIY projects with hand printing supported by step by step guides and images.
For a period of time, she taught textile printing at BEC-Design in Copenhagen, where she inspired students to think out of the box in relation to frame printing. Before and during the above, she worked as Layouter on several magazines in the media house Aller and as DtP at various advertising agencies in Copenhagen.

"Contrasts inspire me, both in terms of colours and lines. Nature's graphic shapes, but also the street scene of everyday life, inspires me. I see a silhouette, some lines or a special colour scheme. That is why I take pictures everywhere."
